Our Background: Southwest Veterinary Symposium 2023

In 2002, the Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas Veterinary Medical Associations partnered to form a regional conference. The first official Southwest Veterinary Symposium (SWVS) was held in 2003. Prior to 2003, it was the Texas Veterinary Medical Associated State meeting. By 2004, Arkansas and New Mexico Veterinary Medical Associations had joined the partnership. SWVS conferences have been held in Dallas, Fort Worth, and San Antonio. SWVS continues to build on excellence by implementing new approaches to continuing education and focus on new networking opportunities to veterinary professionals. As the largest veterinary conference in the Southwest, SWVS concentrates on premium CE, featuring practical information presented by nationally and internationally recognized authorities.
