IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CE CREDITS
More than 400 hours of quality continuing education courses are offered at SWVS 2009 for practitioners, veterinary students, technicians, veterinary technician students, practice managers, office staff and hospital personnel. A maximum of 31 credit hours are available during the general symposium. Additional credit hours are available as listed below. DVMs licensed in Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas may claim an additional 2 hours by visiting the Exhibit Hall. Please check with your state veterinary medical licensing board for specific continuing education allowances and requirements.

It is the individual’s responsibility to maintain continuing education records and submit as required. Attendees are encouraged to consult their state licensing board for specific allowances and any restrictions on the number of hours accepted in specialty areas and nonscience areas (for example, practice management).

CE Verification Procedures For DVMs and Technicians
Three simple steps are required to obtain the SWVS CE Certificate of Completion. To obtain CE certification, all DVMs and technicians should:

  1. CHECK IN – Upon your arrival at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, check in at the registration area, where your badge will be swiped to verify your attendance.
  2. TRACK YOUR ATTENDANCE – Use the CE Checklist provided in your bag to record your attendance at each session you attend.
  3. PICK UP A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION – At the end of the Symposium, stop by the CE desk in the registration area to obtain your Certificate of Completion. Write your name and the date on the certificate and place it with the CE Checklist in your files. Certificates will be available on Sunday at the close of the Symposium. If you do not plan to attend the entire Symposium, you can pick up your certificate at the end of the day you leave.
