Continuing Education

SWVS is a continuing education provider and offers more than 375 hours of quality CE courses for veterinarians, veterinary students, technicians, veterinary technician students, practice managers, office staff and hospital personnel. SWVS is owned by five partner state VMAs, each of which is an affiliate of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). These state veterinary medical exam boards accept/approve SWVS for CE credit. Registrants from other states should check with their state Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners regarding approval of SWVS CE credit.

A maximum of 29 CE credit hours are available for the SWVS General Symposium. Additional credit hours are available as listed below. In addition, DVMs licensed in Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma or Texas may claim 2 hours of CE for visiting the SWVS Exhibit Hall. Please check with your state veterinary medical licensing board for specific CE allowances and requirements. It is the individual’s responsibility to maintain and submit CE records as required. Attendees are encouraged to consult their state licensing board for specific allowances and any restrictions on the number of hours accepted for specialty and nonscience sessions (practice management).

Please note that DVMs and LVTs in the state of Alabama have been approved for 29 CE Credit Hours.
