Who is SWVS?

The Southwest Veterinary Symposium is a partnership combining the efforts of the Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas VMAs to provide exceptional continuing education for veterinary professional in our region and the rest of the nation!

The annual symposium is held each fall in the southwest and includes continuing education, exhibits, interactive labs and social activities. We serve DVMs, RVTs, hospital personnel, veterinary and technician students and the supplies who provide the products and services that support veterinary medicine.

Why Attend?

Each partner state VMA receives financial benefits when their members attend SWVS.  The Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas Veterinary Medical Associations have all benefited from SWVS and have used the proceeds to enhance what they are able to offer to their members.

The Southwest Veterinary Symposium is a “one-stop shop.” Attendees have access to over 350 hours of Continuing Education, a Design Conference, Technology Showcases and an Exhibit Hall that is ready to cater to your needs.

What Makes SWVS Unique?

The Southwest Veterinary Symposium is managed by DVMs and Technicians just like you. Each partner state has two representatives on the Managing Board of Directors who make decisions regarding the symposium. These representatives are chosen by their respective state VMAs.

The Continuing Education Program Committee is also comprised of your fellow peers. They all have you in mind when planning the symposium.

In addition, SWVS has a group of Allied Partners, Founding and Sustaining Sponsors who believe in SWVS and what it stands for.
